Adding and Removing Instructors from Course Sections
This guide explains how to add or remove instructors from course sections—either manually one-by-one or via a CSV upload.
Method 1: Manually Add or Remove an Instructor
✅ To Add an Instructor:
- Navigate to the appropriate Term under Survey Setup > Terms > [Your Term]
- In the Course Sections Table, locate and double-click the course section.
- Use the instructor search field to look up the instructor (e.g., ClassRank Teacher).
- Select the instructor.
- Click Save.
- The instructor is now assigned to that course section.
- Make sure to assign any students that were in the course section to the new instructor. Learn how to do this here.
❌ To Remove an Instructor:
- Navigate to the appropriate Term under Survey Setup > Terms > [Your Term]
- Locate and double-click the course section you are trying to remove an instructor from.
- Locate the assigned instructor.
- Either press Backspace/Delete or uncheck their name from the list.
- 💡 Tip: If you cannot find their name, try searching for it and then uncheck their name.
- Click Save.
- The instructor will be removed from the course section.
Method 2: Upload Instructor Assignments via CSV
⚠️ Bulk removal of instructor assignments is not supported. For bulk removals, contact support@classranked.com.
Steps to Upload Instructor Assignments:
- In the Course Sections Table, click Add Course Sections > Upload Instructor Assignments.
- Click Upload a File and select your Faculty Assignments CSV (sample) or drag and drop it in.
- On the mapping screen, match your columns to the required system fields:
Academic Unit(The Course Section ID)Email(Instructor's Email Address)
- Click Upload.
- Once complete, click Done. The system will begin processing and assigning instructors.
- You can find the results of the upload in the Activity Monitor.
