March 2026 Release
This article covers product updates shipped in the March 2026 release. For the February 2026 mid-semester release, see Spring 2026 Mid-Semester Enhancements. For the April 2026 release, see the next article in this category.
Survey Project Management
Publish confirmation modal
When you publish a survey project, a confirmation modal now asks you to acknowledge that the survey template, course sections, instructor assignments, and student enrollments are all up to date. Optional Review links let you jump to each of those sections to verify before confirming.
Sync Course Sections — live state editing
Sync Course Sections cannot be disabled once a survey project is in the Live state. You can now edit Sync Course Sections settings while a project is live if you need to add or correct course sections — both editing and temporarily disabling the sync to add a section manually are supported in the Live state.
Expanded role support in CSV instructor assignments
The Role column in instructor-assignment CSVs now accepts: Primary Instructor, Additional Instructor, TA, Teaching Staff, Observer. Each role determines visibility and what's evaluated in repeat-per-instructor surveys.
Role-based Repeat per Instructor (preview)
Repeat-per-instructor survey sections can now be scoped to specific instructor roles (Primary, Additional, TA / Teaching Staff). Reporting visibility is enforced per role. (Full UI and configuration shipped in the April 2026 release — see next article.)
Reporting
Repeat-per-Instructor Aggregation
Repeat-per-Instructor (RPI) survey sections for a single course section can be merged into one combined set, allowing them to roll up into higher-level aggregations across course, program, department, and beyond. This eliminates manual duplication in faculty evaluation workflows and means RPI data is now reflected at every level of your reporting hierarchy.
Layout improvements
The reports page now expands all sections by default and uses more of the available page width for easier review.
School Branding on Reports
School-specific branding (logo and school colors) is now supported on both the web platform and PDF reports. Branding is configured at the institution level — contact your ClassRanked implementation lead to set up.
Emails
Closed survey email block
ClassRanked no longer sends any survey-related emails (opening, reminder, or closing) for course-section surveys that are already closed. Previously, students could occasionally receive emails after their survey had closed — that's no longer possible.
Instructor Email tab — grouping and dropdown frequency
The Instructor Email tab now groups opening, reminder, and closing emails together (rather than scattered). Frequency is configured via dropdown-based schedule and interval selections instead of manual frequency inputs.
SIS
Status column in CSV outputs
SIS CSV output files now include a Status column for each row, making it easier to see which records were imported, updated, or rejected.
Sync controls
SIS sync runs are now limited to tenants that have SIS enabled. The system will not start a new sync while an existing SIS task is still in progress, preventing concurrent runs from interfering with each other. SIS sync also no longer uses mass-delete patterns when reconciling course sections and enrollments — preserving existing data and improving sync performance.
People & Enrollments
Reviewing a student's enrollments from the People modal
You can now review all of a student's course-section enrollments directly from the People modal — open Survey Setup → People, find the student, and open their detail. Their enrollments across all terms are listed without needing to navigate term-by-term.
