Adding Custom Questions for Course Sections

Accessing the Add Questions Feature

1. Log into ClassRanked.
2. Go to the Reports tab in the top menu.
3. Click My Courses.
4. Select the correct term (e.g., 2025 Summer 2).
5. Locate the class you'd like to edit (e.g., EE 101 S03 ).
6. If enabled, you'll see an Add Questions button.

Adding Questions

After clicking Add Questions, you’ll be taken to the question editor. There are two ways to add questions:

1 - Create a Custom Question (If enabled)

• Click the Add Question button.
• Write your question (e.g., "How did you like my class?")
• Add your answer choices (e.g., "A little", "Somewhat", "Loved it")

2 - Select from Existing Questions

• Click Lookup Questions
• Choose from:
  • My Questions: Questions you’ve written in the past (if applicable)
  • School-Approved: Predefined questions added by your admin
• Select any to add to your survey

You’ll see a tracker showing the number of added questions and whether you’ve hit any maximum limits.

3 - When ready, click Add to finalize your additions.

Previewing the Survey

Once you've added questions, return to the My Courses page

1. Click Preview Survey next to your course.
2. Scroll to the bottom:
   • Questions from your administrator will appear first
   • Your added questions will appear afterward

This lets you confirm that your additions are showing up correctly.

Important Notes

• You can only add questions if the feature is enabled and the survey has not yet gone live.
• Once a survey is live, no additional questions can be added.
• If the Add Questions button is grayed out, it’s either because:
  • The survey is already live
  • Instructor-added questions were disabled for this survey
