When I sign in I’m directed to a page by Edlink. What is Edlink, I thought this was ClassRanked?
Edlink is ClassRanked’s single sign-on provider. With Edlink, you are able to login with your learning management system like Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle, or Blackboard. So, no more needing to remember another password!
When I try to sign in, I see: Incorrect username or password
This can mean a few things:
- The email you are using does not match the email in our system.
- Are you using an email alias? Some schools give students two email addresses: firstname.lastname@school.edu and an alternative email address like fl12345@school.edu. If you are using one and it is not working, try the other.
- Your password is incorrect. Please confirm this again.
- If you are still having issues logging, Click Forgot your Password? and go through the password reset flow.
- After your password is reset, you will be able to log in.

I am getting the error: User not found
This can mean a few things:
- We do not recognize the domain of your email address (the part after the @ sign). This may be because you are:
- Using a personal email (@gmail.com or @outlook.com) — these don’t work! Please use your school email address.
- You are using an email alias. For example, ClassRanked stores your email in the format: firstname.lastname@school.edu but the email address you are using is the shorthand alias fl12345@school.edu. Make sure you try both!
- You are using a school domain that is not yet recognized by ClassRanked. This may be because your email is not specific to your school (it could be associated to your college system). Please contact support@classranked.com if this is the case.
- Your school is not using ClassRanked. This is unlikely, but if this is you, congrats 🥳 You’ve just found the best Course Evaluation tool known to mankind! Ask your admins if your school can move to ClassRanked today.
I am getting the error: Edlink SSO had an error
- You may have exited out of the single sign-on flow for your school prematurely. Please provide your email address again and follow all the steps to authenticate with your Learning Management System via Edlink.
- If this is still not working, from the starting page, click on “Try Manual Login” and click “Forgot your Password?” and follow the steps to setup a password that you can use.
- Once your password is set/reset, at the home page again, press “Try Manual Login” and use the password you just set. You will now be able to login.
After I sign into my school’s Learning Management System (Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard), I get stuck on a loading page.
Sometimes, but rarely, single sign-on has issues. Let’s try a few things:
- Logout of ClassRanked: Go to: https://insights.classranked.com/logout. This will log you out of ClassRanked. Then try logging in again.
- If this is still not working: From the starting page, click on “Try Manual Login” and click “Forgot your Password?” and follow the steps to setup a local password that you can use.
- Once your password is set/reset, at the home page again, press “Try Manual Login” and use the password you just set. You will now be able to login.
When I login with my LMS account OR click on the ClassRanked Course Evaluation Link in Canvas/Moodle/Blackboard/D2L Brightspace, I keep getting taken back to the sign in page.
This means your account exists in your Learning Management System but either has not been created in ClassRanked or the email you use in your Learning Management System is linked to an email that is different from the given to us by your school for ClassRanked.
If you are a first time ClassRanked user, you might have found us too early and your school has not yet partitioned an account for you (we’re happy to meet you though!)
Generally course evaluations come out towards the end of your course, which is when your account would be created. Otherwise, if you think this is a mistake, please contact support@classranked.com.
I am able to sign in but all I see is a page that says, “You currently don’t have permissions to use ClassRanked.”
This means your account was setup in ClassRanked but you were not enrolled in any Classes (if you are a student) or given any roles (if you are a faculty member or administrator).

When I go to insights.classranked.com, I see a Loading Spinner of DEATH!
Explanation: If you’ve signed into ClassRanked in the past, site data might have become stale. This causes the ClassRanked site to get very confused because no one likes stale data—even websites—leading to the spinner of death.
Solution: Simply go to insights.classranked.com/logout and you will be able to log back in.
I was told I can fill out Course Evaluation surveys but when I login I am missing certain Course Sections/Classes
Course evaluations often run at the end of the course duration. A few things to check:
- Is it near the end of your course? If no, then it's likely the survey is not ready yet and you got a premature/generic notification that was for other students who do have surveys out.
- Is the course normally surveyed? If no, then it's likely the course you are looking for isn't being surveyed in ClassRanked either. For example, if you school did not previously survey online courses, it will likely not survey online courses in ClassRanked either.
